An Old Favorite Returns On A Monday

To the delight of some and the dismay of many – “One Take Only” returns after a five-month hiatus and this time, shows up on a day usually reserved for a post. I had originally decided to take this day off from the site, in order to relax on a race-free weekend. Instead, JohnMc and I decided to resurrect the ol’ videoblog.

For those that haven’t checked it out, my friend John McLallen and I will periodically get together in my backyard to sit and discuss racing. Some of you really like this, while many don’t. If you fall in the camp that doesn’t, come back on Wednesday. I’ll have a new  post up here, then. Those that like it, equate it two old friends just sitting on the porch and shooting the breeze on racing.

Our format is simple – there is none. The name “One Take Only” comes from the fact that we tape it once and only once. What you see is what we got. It is unedited. More importantly, it is completely unscripted and unrehearsed. Most of the time, we rarely even know what we will be discussing or where it will go. Some find that refreshing, while some find it rambling and aggravating.

If you are new to this, John and I have known each other for many years. We’ve been co-workers for the past three years, but we don’t work in the same location. We had known each other for a couple of years before either of us knew the other was a die-hard IndyCar fan. Once that bond was struck, we became instant friends. John also served as my best man, when Susan and I tied the knot at IMS in May of 2012 – so we go way back. We are usually on opposite sides for most topics, but we are in full agreement when it comes to IndyCar – most of the time.

So, we invite you to sit back, carve out about fifteen minutes and watch & listen to two old friends (emphasis on the word “old”) discuss the IndyCar topics of the day.

  1. This is the 1st time I have watched “One Take Only.” Very enjoyable, and I look forward to the next one.

  2. The Lapper Says:

John is correct in stating that TK’s 500 victory this past year is significant. It was the fastest Indy 500 ever. A dramatic statement, yes, but significant.

  3. Sheesh. I am really torn between watching this or Lauren Bohlander’s “Up to Speed” blooper video.

  4. I was afraid you two were going to come to blows there for a minute…I enjoy them – keep ’em coming.
