Good Morning From IMS

Good morning from the grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I slept great and am ready for another fun day of sight-seeing, people-watching, qualifying and drama.

There is already drama this morning, as Tony Kanaan has now crashed his backup car in almost the exact same spot where he crashed on his qualifying run yesterday. I’m not sure what their plan is now, but this isn’t good. Kanaan was already staring at a best starting spot of twenty-fifth going into today. With Joghn Andretti and Kanaan still on the outside looking in, the Andretti Autosport nightmare of qualifying continues.

The weather prediction has held true today. It is already hot and muggy – much more so than yesterday, which will hold the speeds down. I’ll be back later with more.

  1. hey george–maybe I’m confused by the new qualifying format, but I thought driver’s could qualify as high as P10 if they have the speed ? Is that right that 25th is the highest you can qualify today?

  2. nevermind. I must’ve been misled somewhere. Good run for Fisher, she’s gotta be happy with that. should be a good last hour today, george–have fun.
