I am located in Stand E, Box 22 about 2/3 of the way up. I love those seats and have sat there almost every year since ~1987 (we also used to have some A stand seats I occasionally used). The view took a slight hit when they put in the F1 garages because I can no longer quite see turn 4 as the front edge of the upper level suites block by view but I can still see most of the front stretch, turn 1, the short chute, and turn 2.

Option E: Our first tickets, in 1989, were on the infield side of the North Chute. (Yes, at my first Indy 500 I saw Little Al and Emo touch wheels.)Then they put the F1 track in around 2000. When that happened we were relocated to the back stretch at the entrance well before the entrance of 3. Great seats - up high and can see the cars out of 2, down the back straight and through 3 and most of 4.

Apparently, those seats are going away and we were asked to choose a new spot for the 2013 race. We moved 6 section to our right directly across from the entrance to the emergency lane at the end of the back straightaway.

I've sat on the front straight for qualifying and came to this conclusion. You miss a lot of the race sitting there.

Just switched from Northwest Vista (sat there for 30+ years) to Section 1 of B stand. Will miss turn 4, but with the current track config and the way restarts are done, it has become clear that most of the action is in turn 1 now.

George,
I used to have my seats about 100 yards south of the start finish line in the top 3 roows of the lower deck. When I went back in 2011, I was severely disappointed because the view from those seats is NOW confined to the main straightaway. (Back in the 80's when I had regular seats, the top level of the lower paddock seats could see most of 1 and 2, but with the construction of the Tower Terrace suites, those views are no longer.) Your new seats should be ok if you are far enough south to avoid the suites, but if not, you may wind up going back in after penthouse tix in the future. (I have NEVER been able to recall seats by stand number except in the VIstas.)
