Having been to Mid-Ohio the place has good sightlines and the crowd tends to be very knowledgeable. You see more people at Mid-Ohio with IndyCar gear than elsewhere.

Still, I do think some changes to the track are necessary. The racing is simply too processional, as the was built for weekend warriors and sports cars fifty years ago.

Anyway, George is right. Because of the history and the knowledgeable crowd, IndyCar should be at Mid-Ohio. However, the track could use some upgrades.

I live right off of Trueman Blvd in Hilliard,OH really close to where the old shop used to be. It is a shame Bobby moved his shop to Indy. His presence in the Columbus area meant something to some of us. I will be attending my third straight Mid-Ohio race and have always enjoyed myself. Dixon must win or his title hopes are over. I am with George on this one.

Thanks for the history, George! We’re headed up to Mid-Ohio from Nashville this morning. This is our first time, and it’s going to be hard to not compare it to Barber. That place is so spectacular, even if the racing is not.

I like the Wrigley Field analogy. I went there caring nothing about the Cubs (or baseball for that matter) but was in awe of the atmosphere and history. I’ll try to keep that in mind this weekend. Oh who cares, at least I’m not in Nashville fighting the “tax free weekend crazies!”

Been to Mid-Ohio. It’s not racing. I’ts a parade. Maybe its interesting once but tradition should mean more than age.
