Actually, George, I believe this is not the next to last, but the last race this season we will have to listen to Marty Reid and Scott Goodyear. That is, if Robin Miller can be believed…
The Mid-Ohio race will be on ABC, but will use the NBC Sports TV (minus Robin Miller) crew because Reid and the ABC pit reporters are needed at NASCAR events that weekend, with ESPN covering Grand National at Iowa and Cup at Pocono. I believe the primary reason Mid-Ohio is not on NBC Sports is because they are in the middle of Olympic coverage on August 5.

The 1996 Toyota engine was remarkably Lotus-like. Best finish that year of 8th, versus 9th for Lotus so far. I don’t recall if the Toyota engines were as reviled back then as the Lotus is today. I would guess not, because Toyota spared no expense trying to make the engine competitive, so we all assumed it would get better.
Even so, I think we’ll still be chiding the Lotus if it continues for 4 whole seasons and never finishes better than 4th, as the Toyota did.

Count me as suprised that Bourdais hasn’t won this race more. I guess this was his tough track? With a bit of lucky maybe Dragon sniffs the podium Sunday. As for the winner, it’s Dixon v Power.

OK, let me ask the first “silly season” question here: Who replaces Bob Jenkins for next year? Aside from Kevin Lee, I can’t come up with a “star” who is sufficiciently knowledgeable to replace Mr . Jenkins. And, does Kevin Lee have he neessaryt “star quality?”
