As a Corvette owner for years, I cannot get upset with another Corvette to pace the Greatest Spectacle in Racing. Chevrolet has repeatedly missed out on another opportunity to showcase their great American sport car and this year is just another example. The ZR1 is a beautiful machine, but plain white and grey striped is not a model to set the pulse upwards. Was this just an after-thought? For all of those that want another make or model, bring it on. Which make or model can surpass this latest pace car? The 500 logos will be the same no matter who tries, so that isn’t an issue. What American motorcar, that has survived nearly 60 continous years, can even mount a arguement? I rest my 638+ HP case. By the way, imported from Bowling Green!

What us the big deal about the ads at the track? Hasn’t IndyCar been losing money since its inception? God forbid they try to fix that. Put a great big Fuzzy’s add next to Woody Hayes’s name at the ‘Shoe and I could care less if it means the Buckeyes will have more money to make the team better.

I think they are just missing an easy opportunity for good PR and excitement. It is a built in buzz builder that they are relegating to a non-issue.

It would be nice to see a different pace car every so often. One of those Cadillac coupes even, if you have to keep it strictly with GM.

I heard that if chevy and honda do field last second entries to get Lotus bumped from the field, IndyCar will let Simona pace the race in her race car in order to keep her sponsors happy.

I no longer pay much attention to who is driving this year’s Vette, but I would love to have one tricked out with the pace car stickers.No matter what people thought, I would ALWAYS park it in two parking spots at an angle.

This year, with the power generated by the current Corvette engine, I think the choice is a good fit. However, I agree that no imagination whatsoever went into the appearance of the car.

It needs a total makeover, a paint job that would wow us.

It would be nice to see a Mustang or a Challenger out there for a change but honestly, when it comes to iconic American sports cars, there is little that can even come close to the Corvette… I owned one and while they are not the picture of comfort and or quiet, they will knock your socks off performance wise. This latest version at 638 HP would actually give these race cars a run for their money in the straights at the IMS…
