I am sorry to say that you are wrong on the rain issue. There are two opposite seasons in São Paulo region: when it rains, it rains too much. When comes to the dry season, the city runs out of water, despite the three large dams. March used to be the last raining month. That is the reason why the race was rescheduled to April, almost May. Unfortunatly it didn´t help too much.

Oh George, how could you??!! After Wednesday's column about learning the drivers' names even!!!

It was Mario Moraes that ended up on top of Marco in that first race. EJ got through the mess cleanly, if memory serves.

That's it, cutting you off from the beer. ROTFL

Ya know I love you, man. ;-)

My querstion, perhaps answered by Bent Wickerbill, is IS there another time of year when this continuous rainfall would be less likely. It occurs to me that the series moved the Motegi race on the calendar for just such a reason, and certainly, considering the number of fanatical Brazilian race fans, it might be good to consider.

George, regarding Itaipava beer, I could not agree with you more on it's appealing taste. A couple of years back I had seats in the Champions section at Homestead and that was one of several beers being served and it was excellent.
As far as racing and raining in São Paulo goes.
With annual rainfall of 57 plus inches, there isn’t really a rainy season in Sao Paulo as such. Rather, there is persistent and abundant rainfall throughout the year. So, complaining about rained out races in São Paulo is kind of like putting a 6 foot alligator in your swimming pool then complaining about being bitten by the alligator.. With many teams hanging by a thread financially, the chance for torrential rainfall in São Paulo and all of the other possibile road courses to be had here in the US. It is difficult to see the logic of racing in either Brazil or China for that matter...
