Good Morning From IMS

I wish I could say it’s beautiful morning here at the track, but that would be a stretch. It’s kind of a hazy/high overcast. A look at the radar shows some rain near Chicago and some more to the south in northern Kentucky that could be moving this way. There is a 50% chance of rain at some point today which could make early runs today significant. If there is any stoppage in track activity due to rain today, they throw out the “Fast Nine” shootout concept and revert to more traditional rules (I think). So if a team is relying on a later run to get them on the pole – it may not happen.

At 8:00, it looks like we’re in for a good crowd today. Check back throughout the day, for updates. Not only will I have some posts regarding on-track activity, Susan will have some “colorful” posts on some of the other aspects of the Pole Day crowd.
