I agree with: “A new championship trophy … scrap that thing and start over.”
A Formula One champ would be aghast if presented with that crap.
And many of us hope that second- and third-tier teams pluck wins in 2011 while everyone’s running the ‘same’ chassis and engine and tires. Like to see very talented, skilled, and experienced underdog teams of drivers & engineers win a few races.

I’m really looking forward to ’11. New drivers/teams, buncha cars at Indy, some new tracks. I can wait for ’12 because there’s so much cool stuff gonna happen over the next year and change.

couple of things: wish they’d scheduled an oval before Indy and that trophy was a noble effort but an epic failure. they can be innovative and not be ridiculous.

as for the name change and new logo? fine, lose IRL if that is really a deal-breaker for some people. and not to defend the somewhat outdated logo–but if a freakin’ logo is a reason not to follow Indycar, then that’s not a very good reason. I’d say change the logo if Champcar folks agree to stop using the word “crapwagon.”

looking forward to more off-season and a great real season for Indycar.

Good move…as was getting rid of the IRL name. All I’m waiting for is a new logo. The car on the banked oval isn’t representative of the series anymore for me.
