Why, is Andretti planning on misappropriating sponsorship money by spending it on Carribean vacations instead of the race team?

I’m confused how Danica could have run RLR into the ground while driving for AGR while Renta-Letterman-Racecar was accepting over $5,000,000 in sponsorship per car in addition to the $2,400,000 from the league?

If Rahal had lived up to sponsors expectations and hadn’t sued Patron for leaving, he would still be running a team. You can blame Danica all you want, but the reason Rahal is out of the business is because no publicly traded company can hand him a check anymore.

Danica ran Rahal/Letterman into the ground and she did the same thing with Andretti. SHE is the reason. Nobody else.

Andretti will probably be out of business in 2 years or “Indy-only”.

TK is the Randy Moss of Indycar. Talented but venomous as a teammate.

RHR is exactly the opposite, he makes the rest of the team better.

It’s hard for me to say that the move was classless. However, what I can say is that from an outsider’s perspective, I am very happy to see Tony Kanaan leaving the cesspool that AA has been over the last three seasons. Is it coincidence that Andretti-Green/Andretti Autosport has gone to pot since PSP arrived? I don’t think so.

Andretti Autosport is sadly rapidly falling-if it hasn’t fallen already-to the levels of the likes of former F1 World Champion Alain Prost’s eponymously named F1 team: great champion driver, junk team. Ryan Hunter-Reay will rue the day he committed to Andretti Autosport.

Admit it, if AA had announced TK’s departure, without also announcing the signing of RHR, bloggers like yourself would have used it to portray an even more negative image of AA by engaging in uninformed speculation as to whether or not AA would be able to retain RHR. His contract/sponsorship status would be yet another indicator of the decline of AA.

Believe it or not, PR people know what makes you tick. They stopped news outlets and bloggers from engaging in an orgy of speculation about RHR by announcing his re-signing on the same day.

That’s what is known as “smart.”

I have no idea if there are bad feelings between AA and TK, but the point of announcing RHR’s resigning during the same news cycle is obvious. Anybody offended by something like this needs to put on their big-boy pants, and wipe away the baby tears.

Someone will appreciate TK’s leadership qualities and the fact that he can elevate everyone’s game when it is a TEAM. These past two years with Marco and Danica were a waste. When TK was with professionals like Franchitti, Herta and Wheldon his leadership qualities were a major reason that team was so good. He worked with Wheldon and taught him how to win because Wheldon didn’t have his head up his @ss and knew that TK was the real deal. I stand by that, too.

I can’t see this going well for anyone… The TK getting booted thing’s happened with Wheldon, happened with Meria (to make room at Panther for Wheldon) happened with Tracy, and it’s not had a happy ending yet… Going to DeFerran is similar to what Wheldon did by going to Panther… and that hasn’t produced any wins. As for AA, they’re f*cked… they’ve got two inconsistant drivers who have 2 combined wins in 11 combined seasons, RHR, who’s good, but has never won more than once a year, and potentially either a former ALMS/F1 driver who’s in Superleague Formula or an A1GP driver who’s never ran an oval to possibly replace Kanaan, or just drop down to 3 cars. Even if they stay at 4, they’ll have no team leader. Technically, Danica’s the “veteran” as she’s had the most consectutive seasons, RHR has the most wins, and raced CART, Champcar, and IRL, Marco’s dad runs the team, and Carroll/Montangy won some in other series… so who’s the team leader and who’ll setup the cars???

Love it. My wish has been TK to de Ferran Dragon for awhile now.

I do think Rafa would succeed with a teammate like him. I saw a touch of improvement in him this year; not much but enough to be able to tell.
