I would’ve given de Ferran Dragon a D-. They did have a few bright points this season. Not too many, but enough where they didn’t deserve an F.

I’d give KV a F-

Foyt’s episode with his grandson at Indy, would drop him a bit too. Probably a D for Foyt.

Oops! That was a BIG Omission on my part. That’s what happens when you write late at night.

I would give Tags and FAZZT a B. No one (myself included) gave this new team much of a shot to be anything but a backmarker. When they put the car on the front row, everyone thought it was a fluke. But they held their own throughout the season. Their finishes weren’t indicative of their performance throughout races. They ended up with four top-ten finishes, including a tenth pkace finish at Indianapolis. They faded a little bit down the stretch, but still earned a solid B – based on the expectations going into the season. – GP

I also agree with most of your grades (which is why I did not vote, since that was not a listed choice). Unlike the above poster, however, I wouldn’t go so far as to give HVM an A, as it wouldn’t fit in with the rest of your grading criteria; although I do agree with his reasoning. I would have loved to see Simona’s results on the ovals had her new Dallara not been destroyed — I do believe they would have been very different. I hope that she and her team find some decent funding for next season (and another new Dallara), so her obvious talents can be put on proper display.

Oh, SNAP! You really pulled out the red pen while grading this season, George. However, I agree with most of the grades.

I think you’re a little tough on poor old Dale Coyne. For a team that has never done anything (except for one race) to bring home the Rookie of the Year award merits better than a D-, especially dragging the anchor of Milka around all year.

I think that if anyone deserved an A is was HVM. Anyone would have expected them to be nothing but a backmarker. However, Simona had some very promising runs, including leading at least once (not using fuel strategy tricks) and getting some top 10′s. They WAY exceeded expectations.
