While I will always prefer ovals... Toronto is one of my favorite races of the year, and has been for awhile, for all of the reasons you listed George! These are the kinds of races we should be proud to have on the unified schedule. Heck, it's even more exciting than some ovals, I'd admit (Kansas... how long since that little 300 miler produced any excitment?).

Not to dwell on this too much, but Will Power's Penske teammates have 6 Toronto Starts between them, counting Castoneves' 4 CART starts.

Interesting that among all 5 of his starts at Toronto, Helio's best finish has been 10th, as a rookie in 1998. In fact, that finish is the only one Helio's had at Toronto that wasn't a DNF.

Note to ABC - full time picture in picture on Milka. PLEASE! After the first lap or two when Will gets around to lap her, she's going to be non-stop ACTION! George, you bring up a very valid point of just how dangerous she could be on a tight street circuit. That is very scary.

Also, who would have ever though PT would end up the mature driver with the best chance of bringing one of his team's cars home in one piece? I have been thinking this all season about KV - PT needs a full-time ride, as the experienced, mature driver to stabilize the team and "mentor" the others. Crazy stuff. The end must be near.

George, this is my favorite time of the year for the series. Five straight road/street courses...heavenly!

With that said I'm pretty excited about this weekend and the next two weekends after it. I think there is plenty to be excited about. Toronto is a great course that produces some good racing, Hunter-Reay is racing for the rest of the year, we finally get to see J.R. drive in the next race after this weekend, and the car announcement is actually pretty darn exciting. I read what you wrote yesterday and I know you're not super excited, but this has the potential to be very cool. As was discussed on Trackside last night, F1 has a pretty standard set of rules for the tub area of the car. Having Dallara build the tub and teams picking what aero package they want really is pretty cool. This has the potential for a lot of competition. I really hope to see at least one or two teams (Penske and Ganassi?) make their own kits and become more like manufacturers. Tony Fernandes (Lotus Racing GM) spoke in Autosport about having Lotus more involved in Indycar, so maybe Lotus will make a full return by making their own aero kits instead of just running a car painted in Lotus colors. That is pretty exciting to me.

At any rate, good job on the blog George. I have been reading, but not commenting lately. I am excited about the race this weekend and I can't wait to see J.R. finally get to drive in a few weeks.
