I was sit there for hours just gazing at that car. I would look at is so long that I eventually could see it moving. I’ve been searching the intertrons for a copy of that poster. If I could find one, I’d put in on the wall of my bedroom now (much to my wife’s chagrin, to be sure). What a beautiful car.

The only other car that I would add to this list is Johnny Rutherford’s Pennziol Chapparal. I think that gets my vote as the most beautiful car to ever turn a wheel at Indy.

This was the first American car to win a European Grand Prix and remained so until Dan Gurney won a Grand Prix in one of his Eagles in 1968 (I think).

Jimmy Murphy bought the car from the Duesenberg brothers, yanked out the Duesenberg engine, put in a Miller and proceeded to win the 1922 500, giving Harry Miller his first 500 win.
