Please don't be too harsh with ESPN, or we LAtin Americans will lose IndyCar broadcasting! Andrés Agulla and Alex Pombo are great racing journalists, and they actually go to races unlike nearly every sports journalist in this continent. Agulla actually sounded desperate last year when the the last originally scheduled race broadcasting ended (Toronto). ESPN Latin American later managed to get the broadcasting back, and we're thanked for them. Please don't hoosh them away!

Hoover is ramboling and that is o.k....

Good answers all, especially HooverOnTheWeb's answer.

The only thing I disliked about Versus' coverage of IndyCar was Jack Arute's "interrogation" style interviews. That was a little over the top for me, but everything else was first-rate.

Thank you, George, for writing something positive. If you go to various IndyCar message boards, all you see is negative, negative, negative. It's good to know that someone sees the good in the IndyCar series.

Dear Mister Positive Mental Attitude,

I agree with all of the above names you mentioned. I would like to add that Lindy "I am Indy" Thackston went out of her way to talk to me and let me get a photo (as long as we could keep walking. The pace is fast on Gasoline Ally). I love Bob, Jon, Robby and even Jack. Versus are not "ride buyers" of TV. They deserve the ride. They are the Paul Tracy of TV. Not the best, but the one we choose and have the talent to back it up. The major networks have the exposure numbers, but just don't do the job Versus does. So does the Izod Indycar series go with a sub-standard ride buyer with ratings or give the ride to the network that does the best job? Is Versus the Buddy Rice/Grahm Rahal of TV? Is ESPN/ABC the Milka Dunno? Ok, here is my point; Grahm Rahal deserves a ride and Versus deserves coverage. Thomas Schector can't find sponsorship ans Versus don't yet have the viewers. I don't favor ride buyers, let's support Versus and Sara Fisher and hope they both find the $$$/eyeballs they deserve. 'nuff said.

that's what I understood too dog. I like Versus and think they'll come to an agreement with DirectTV eventually--we may have to have patience.

I like the idea of "the good side" george. I'm excited about the season and ready to stop dwelling on the negative and the controversial and go watch some cars go zoom.

I don't think IndyCar "cast it's lot" with VS because that implies they had a choice. I think ESPN only wanted a few races including the 500. So it was VS or buy time on ESPN.
