He was the radio voice, and he may have been involved in the telecasts as well. I don’t follow basketball, but what little I saw of him there was impressive. I always enjoyed him on the Indycar broadcasts, and I wish he could come back for more.

I probably should have included something about the old ABC crew, but I kept it current.

Uncle Bobby was phenomenal in the booth. His spats with Sam Posey were legendary in their own right. I wasn’t too keen on Danny Sullivan as an announcer. I thought he was a little dry and monotone. But he was a thousand times better than one of his successors — Parker Johnstone. He was worse as an announcer than as a driver.

Noboby would deny that the Versus team is better than abc’s but I wouldn’t trade Buehl and Bekus for my beloved Uncle Bobby and Danny Sullivan those guys were legends Buehl and Bekus were second rate drivers at best.

Comcast owns VS and is trying to overcharge DirecTV for VS and I am sure it is because of the new popularity of VS and it’s coverage of IndCar racing. Being an IndyCar fan since 1953 and involved and working for USAC at Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the late 60′s and early 70′s I am now reduced to trying to watch IndyCar racing on streaming video….Unhappy Camper
